Home Remedy To Get Rid of A Sore Throat
Anyone who has had a sore throat knows how miserable you can be. The uncomfortable feeling of a dried throat can drive you crazy especially when its accompanied with flu like symthoms.
During the last 2 days I’ve been in this situation and tried some of the other remedies I found online. A friend even recommended that I buy this medicine she used that worked for her. If I could do without having to go to the pharmacy that would be great.
Some of the remedies for sore throat that I found were:
- suck on hard candy throughout the day preferably one with menthol or eucalyptus. This helps produce saliva which is good for the throat
- drink camomile or echinacea tea through the day
- drink plenty of water (room temperature). Helps keep the area moist.
- have 2-3 teaspoonful of honey every 2 hours as it coats the throat and prevents it from drying
- Drink apple cider vinegar and water as it gets rid of the virus or bacteria that causes sore throat.
However, I remembered an old remedy that I had used once but couldn’t quite find it online. Luckily, my sister had made the mixture for me so she let me know what she did.
To make this remedy all you need is apple cider vinegar and honey.
Directions:
- In a mug, put 3 teaspoonsful of apple cider vinegar. Its best to use organic ACV like Braggs or you can use Heinz.
- Next pour 2 teaspoonsful of honey and mix together.
- Fill the mug with warm water (not hot but warm enough to melt the honey).
- Stir and enjoy.
Apple cider vinegar has been known to be a natural all purpose remedy for a lot of conditions including weight loss, allergies and even as a natural supplement so its no wonder that this works so well.
A word of caution though – always rinse your mouth immediately after consuming apple cider vinegar as it can damage the enamel on your teeth if you leave it too long.
