How to Personalize Lab Coats

Have been crazy with your nursing print scrubs? You maybe hooked to them because you feel like they give you some kind of personal attachment to what you’ve always loved about. Perhaps, you collect cartoon scrubs to satisfy your craziness about a certain Disney character. Or you have a lot of scrub tops that are adorned with floral prints because they are your favorite. You may even wish you could have those prints with your lab coats as well, but that’s not the case. What then can you do to make your lab coats look more personalized?

Will you get your lab coats a title, name, logo embroidery, or just a monogram? Whichever it is that you choose, as long as the design proves to be satisfying, your lab coats will be just as adorable as your printed nursing uniforms.

Lab coats are usually embroidered at either sides of the chest and or the chest pocket. The most common is the incorporation of title and name, as it serves as identification card of the wearer. Of course, physicians, nurses, dentists, or any individual working in the health care industry have their official identification cards. But with the title and name embroidered to the lab coat, patients will be able to easily recognize the person whom they are talking to. Sometimes, others choose to use just a monogram, the letters or initials of the person’s name, or just a logo. Still others prefer more elaborate embroidery, putting title and name at one side, and logo at the opposite.

Embroidery of title and name don’t simply serve as a traditional way of wearing lab coats, but it has become a form of decorative add on. By the use of different thread colors, font styles, and font sizes, one can make his or her lab coats look unique. A good combination of these three aspects can make a white lab coat or any colored lab coat very professional looking, just a bit formal, or attractive to their patients.

For health care professionals who prefer to be discreet, they choose to have monogram, avoiding their name from being displayed. But just the same as the title and name embroidery, monograms can serve as accent on the lab coat. Others choose to have it simply because initials are a less clutter. They look basic, not so plain, but very simple.

Logo embroidery, on the other hand is the more complicated way of personalizing lab coats. This is because some company or organizational logos have intricate designs, requiring several thread colors in order to complete the logo. And whether added along with monogram or title and name, a logo can really make a difference on the way lab coats look like, for there are some that comes in cuddly cartoon designs, sweet image representations, and caring words.
