Methods for Dealing with Excessive Sweating and Body Odor

For most people, sweating and body odor are minor inconveniences. After taking a bath or shower and applying some deodorant, the matter is closed for most people. If you suffer from excessive sweating and body odor, though, your reality is very different. While everyone sweats after exercise or in hot weather, this is something much more extreme. Body odor and sweating like this make it impossible to function in a normal way. In some cases, people with this problem avoid appearing in public out of fear that others will judge them. There are, thankfully, some effective remedies for anyone suffering from this problem.

Personal hygiene such as regular bathing is a good way to help combat excessiv sweating and body odor problems. It is important that you bathe or shower at least once daily. Showering every day will clean out your pores and get rid of odor causing bacteria. The benefits of doing this include washing away dried on sweat that has accumulated on your skin blocking your pores. There are some who find it necessary to take a bath or shower twice or more per day. It is important to remember that you must bathe at least once per day or more if necessary.

You might not even realize it, but some people believe in applying baking soda to particular sweaty spots on the their body. In reality, we have not yet tested this out, though the reasoning for it is sound. Often times, baking soda is put to use for the absorption of moisture and decreasing odors.

This is why people tend to keep an open box of it in their refrigerator. It stands to reason that it could help with the same things on humans. You don’t want to use a bunch of the stuff, although, a little dusting definitely won’t hurt.

You can also take medications orally. Several drugs are made that can control excessive sweating. One drug that has been made for this is anticholinergics. When you take this medication, your sweat glands are no longer able to produce sweat. While, this by itself is a positive thing, there can be side effects when you take this drug. Quite a few people have complained of having a dry mouth after taking this drug. On the other hand, considering the problem of excessive sweating and body odor, a dry mouth may be a small price to pay. Living with excessive sweating and body odor can be emotionally painful and lonely. You have to be brave to try and overcome it. You also have to realize that you may not find a solution right away, as you may have to try various approaches before you find one that is helpful for you. There is always something that works for everybody, though, and you’ll eventually be able to overcome this problem. You will be able to live like everyone else! It’s just a matter of finding out how to reach that point!
