Simplifying the compensation claims system

One of the most common motivators behind accident compensation claims are car crashes, as thousands of people are injured whilst using the UK’s roads each year. For however many people make injury claims, though, there are thousands more that shy away from pursuing financial justice because they are deterred by the thought of a long and complex legal process.

From April 2010, however, the Ministry of Justice has simplified the accident claims process to make it easier and quicker for car accident and other personal injury victims to receive the compensation they deserve. Eight out of ten car accident claims will result in a compensation case for less than ten thousand pounds. As such, most cases are eligible for the government’s new ‘fast track’ scheme to speed up the small claims process.

If you are pursuing a compensation claim of between one and ten thousand pounds, the representative of the person you are seeking legal action against has fifteen days to notify you with a decision of liability after you have made your initial claim. Any subsequent investigation work such as medical check ups must be carried out within 35 days before an overall decision is made on financial sums awarded and the whole case could be assessed and a financial reward given within a matter of weeks.

At Claims Solicitors, we can offer quick and effective advice on taking advantage of this new system should you have suffered a car crash or personal injury under similar circumstances. Whereas for serious injuries that have resulted in disabilities or long-term health problems the process could be longer as you will be claiming for a more substantial fee, for minor injuries we will work with you and the new accident compensation system to help you claim the financial payout you deserve as quickly as possible.
