Toy Story 3 Set to Sweep the Nation
It’s hard to believe that the Disney Pixar animated extravaganza, Toy Story, is now 15 years old. The film, created in 1995 – making it the first ever full feature cinematic release by animation studio Pixar, which now proudly includes flicks like Finding Nemo, Up and Monsters Inc under its belt – has endured the time remarkably well, as with many Disney features, and is one of the favourite animated movies of many an adult and child alike. As if the first film wasn’t enough, in 1999 came the equally delightful Toy Story 2, which brought back the comedy duo that was the old-fashioned Woody, a pullstring cowboy doll with no illusions about his place in life, and brand new action figure Buzz Lightyear, whose naivety and ego led him to fully believe he was a space ranger superhero fully capable of travelling to infinity – and beyond! – into our lives for another rollicking adventure with all new friends and foes. Now, more than a decade later, the announcement and upcoming arrival of a third in the series has many a twenty-something trembling with excitement over the revival of one of their favourite childhood movies. Toy Story 3 is set for a June 2010 release and promises more fun, wackiness and, of course, all of our favourite characters back on the big screen for a new decade and a new adventure. This time around, Woody, Buzz, Jesse and co must face the prospect of an uncertain future as their beloved owner Andy is now 18 years of age and getting ready to go to college. After the departure of a few of their friends during yard sales over the years, our charismatic chums have no clue what’s going to happen to them – but, as has been proven during the last two instalments of the franchise – the last thing they want is to be separated from their much-loved Andy. While some things are possibly set to change in our favourite toys’ universe forever, some things will always stay the same. Voicing lead characters Woody and Buzz as always are Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, whose vocal talents have been critically acclaimed throughout the franchise’s evolution.Whether or not you’re first in line to see the latest instalment in the cinema, you’ll still be able to enjoy the magic of Toy Story in your home as channels prepare to show the first two movies to complement the new release, so set your Sky HD boxes to record and prepare for an adventure that will take you to infinity – and beyond!Janine Barclay writes for a digital marketing agency.
